Welcome to our Creative Writing Enrichment Program!  In this class, students will engage in creative writing prompts, collaborate with peers, revise and edit their writing, and finally, publish their very own stories! Whether your child is a budding author or looking to improve their writing, this class will be sure to inspire creativity and confidence in their writing. The class size is limited to 10 students.

This class helps students to learn Chinese language and art in modern times.  In this class, students will learn how to bring nature to life by using simple Chinese brush stroke techniques to paint a variety of nature scenes. Students will learn how to cook delicious Chinese food such as wonton and dumplings,  speak the Chinese language, and will be exposed to Chinese culture through stories, songs, rhymes, arts, crafts, and group activities. In this class, you will learn how to create animations with Procreate. We’ll start off with learning everything to get started with this application as well as advanced features to take your art to the next level. We will end the summer with learning the steps to creating our own animation. Each student needs to come to class with their own iPad and Apple pencil. Also, a $12.99 one time purchase for a subscription to Procreate, is required. The class size is limited to 8 students.

In this class, students will learn about fashion design, including exploration of fabrics and textures, lessons on how to draw the fashion figure, how to render fabric and illustrate clothing. Students will create their own designs. We will go over basic sewing tools and techniques, and make our own hand-sewn bookmark. We will also explore T-shirt designs, tie-dye and jewelry making. Join us for a dance fitness class that explores Latin and International rhythms, as well as pop music. Students spend the first 15 minutes warming up, with cardio dance. The students will then learn dance/fitness related games, breaking up into groups to create their own choreography for a song they choose. This class teaches students about music, fitness, dance, and acceptance of other cultures. It improves confidence, coordination, and is a mood booster for any music and dance lover. This course will focus on developing strength and speed for rising 7th and 8th grade students of the Warwick Valley Central School District.

Proper instruction in weight training, plyometrics, and resistance band work and will incorporate speed work on the field.

This class will be offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:00 - 6:00 pm beginning on July 7, 2025.

The class fee is $75, which covers the entire 6 weeks of instruction. The class will meet in the Weight Room of the Warwick Valley High School.
