Summer Enrichment

Warwick Valley Central School District's Summer Enrichment Program offers children unique opportunities to learn and have fun... every summer! 

This year, we will have two sessions, a morning session from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, and an afternoon session from 12:30 pm until 3:30 pm.  No lunch will be provided.

If your child will be participating in both sessions, you will need to pick them up at 12:00 pm and return them at 12:30 pm.

2026 Summer Enrichment Courses

Class # 101 – SAT Math Summer Sprint

Master the Digital SAT - Level up your SAT score this summer!  This intensive, 5-day bootcamp is designed to demystify the Math portion of the digital SAT (DSAT).  We’ll move beyond simple rote memorization to master the specific problem-solving strategies, Desmos calculator hacks, and content areas that the College Board loves to test.  Each session blends direct instruction with guided practice on Khan Academy, ensuring students walk away with the confidence to tackle everything from linear systems to complex trigonometry.  Students will need to bring an internet-enabled device to access Khan Academy.  The class size is limited to 25 students.

Class # 102 – Junk Journal

In this hands-on class, students will create their own junk journals using recycled papers, envelopes, book pages, fabric scraps, and other fun materials. They’ll learn simple bookbinding and collage techniques while decorating pages with pockets, tags, and mixed-media art. By the end of the program, each student will have a unique handmade journal for writing, drawing, and creative expression. The class size is limited to 10 students.

Class # 103 – Chinese Language and Art

This course helps students learn Chinese language and modern Chinese art. Students will bring nature to life using simple Chinese brush-stroke techniques to paint a variety of nature scenes. They will also learn to cook Chinese dishes such as wontons and dumplings, practice speaking the Chinese language, and explore Chinese culture through stories, songs, rhymes, arts and crafts, and group activities.  The class size is limited to 30 students.

Class # 104 – Arts & Crafts - Mixed Media

Educational crafts is a program where children explore their imagination through hands-on arts and crafts, building cognitive, fine motor, social-emotional, and self-expression skills. Built for children ages 6-10, developmentally appropriate and safe crafts will explore diverse media like clay, canvas, and colorful recycled materials. Taught by an instructor with a master's degree in developmental psychology, professional experience facilitating art and craft programs in group homes, and a strong personal commitment to art education, children receive step-by-step instruction in a nurturing setting as they create multiple projects each day. Each themed craft (e.g., animals, the environment, astronomy,  music, etc.) features a focused lesson, a story reading, or a fun fact sheet to take home, combining crafting with learning. Afterward, children use their creations in interactive games and activities for deeper engagement.  The class size is limited to 12 students.

Come have fun creating fun baked items and be artistic with hands-on crafts, ex: Suncatchers, homemade spinning tops, creating hand puppets.  Come join the fun and make new friends!  The class size is limited to 16 students.

Come join us as we create beautiful mosaics out of glass and ceramic tiles.  Learn to make coasters, frames, and stepping stones while using different colors and designs.  The class size is limited to 15 students.

Class # 107 – Exploring ELA, Geometry & Engineering

Unlock the intersection of language, logic and creativity. This integrated curriculum fuses English Language Arts with the world of art and mathematics. Students will sharpen their ELA skills while diving into hands-on geometry- eventually venturing into the mind-bending mysteries of infinity and a real-life connection to engineering. The class size is limited to 15 students.

Class # 108 – A Taste of Italy

Want to learn how to make homemade pasta? This is the class for you! We will learn to make bow tie, fettuccine, cavatelli , pappardelle, and ravioli from scratch! Homemade pasta is light and delicious. It is a skill that you can carry throughout your life and can share with your family.  The class size is limited to 6 students.

Class # 109 – Graphic Novel

Want to try your hand at creating your own graphic novel? This is the class for you! During the week we will examine the steps a graphic novelist takes to create their own comic book. We will develop our own main character and origin story. We will create and publish our own unique graphic novel for others to enjoy. The class size is limited to 6 students.

Class # 110 – Wildcat Comic Club

Students in the Wildcat Comic Club will learn the basics of creative writing, story structure, and narrative illustration by creating their own short graphic novels. The goal is for students to have an understanding of how stories can be told visually, as well as how professional artists and writers brainstorm ideas and pitch their books to publishers. At the end of the five days, students will have utilized skills in creative writing, wordbuilding, organization, illustration, and character design to write and draw a total of 2-4 comic pages. This course is best suited for students who have a strong passion for writing, drawing, or both! The class size is limited to 12 students.

This class will focus on teaching children about 'acting' for the theatre and film industry! This class would provide mindsets that not only help students interested in this career path, but also help them with...

Class #115 – Fun With Clay!

In this hands-on enrichment class, students will explore the basics of hand-building using sculpting polymer clay. Young artists will design and create fun, functional pieces such as beads for jewelry, keychains, small vases, and game pieces. Emphasizing creativity, fine motor skills, and imaginative play, this class is perfect for children who love to experiment, build, and make art through play. Class # 119 – Calling All Treasure Hunters!

Treasure Hunters will embark on a week-long journey filled with scavenger hunts, pirate STEM activities, and creative projects such as designing a treasure chest and spyglass.  Put your adventure skills to the test with an escape room to discover the lost gold.  End the week with an epic treasure hunt filled with challenging clues and pirate shenanigans!  Join us for a treasure trove of fun! Adventurers will splash into a week filled with under the sea crafts, STEM activities and creative projects such as designing a light-up tropical reef. Class # 124 – Baking 102

A creative baking experience for children to build on baking 101 skills that they have learned. They will learn Cake stacking, sugar cookie icing, breads and how to make pizza. Everything made will come home with the child to enjoy with the family. The class size is limited to 10 students.

Class # 125– Learn to Sew with Me!

In this engaging sewing class, children will explore their creativity while learning threading and basic sewing techniques. Through fun, hands-on projects, they will work with felt, craft glue, and all sorts of fun tools, developing their fine motor skills and artistic expression. We want your child to feel confident and finish the week with a complete project they can feel proud of! The class size is limited to 6 students.

Class # 126 – Speed and Strength Development

This course will focus on developing strength and speed for rising 7th and 8th grade students of the Warwick Valley Central School District. Proper instruction in weight training, plyometrics, and resistance band work and will incorporate speed work on the field. 

This class will be offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. beginning on July 6, 2026. The class fee is $75, which covers the entire 6 weeks of instruction.  The class will meet in the Weight Room of the Warwick Valley High School.
