Update 2: Traffic Patterns... WVMS & WVHS Dismissal

Dear Families,

We’re sharing a brief update following yesterday’s communication about new dismissal traffic patterns at the Middle and High School campus, designed to improve safety and order. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we worked through the first day.

The Warwick Police Department was on site, including along Sanfordville Road, working with our team to assess traffic flow. Overall, we saw progress, with a few adjustments needed to improve the process.

Based on our observations and community feedback, particularly regarding the left-turn-only restriction for high school student drivers, we will make the following adjustment beginning tomorrow: High school student drivers may exit by turning either left or right onto Sanfordville Road. Student drivers will be held until buses have fully departed before being released.

As a reminder to middle school families, parking or pickup is not permitted in the Middle School/District Office lot, the St. Stephen’s Church lot, or nearby roadways. All pickups must occur at the front of the middle school using the established line, and left turns exiting the middle school or district office are not permitted during dismissal. These procedures are in place to limit students crossing busy roadways and moving through active parking lots.

We will continue to monitor dismissal and make adjustments as needed to support safety and traffic flow. We also encourage students to use school bus transportation whenever possible.
