WVHS students explore even more during annual Clubs & Activities Fair

Students at Club and Activities Fair

Warwick Valley High School held its annual Clubs & Activities Fair las week! The old gym was packed with students who spent their unit lunch period exploring tables covered in colorful displays, staffed by eager club members ready to recruit new members and share what their clubs are all about.

"The Club Fair at Warwick Valley High School is a vibrant showcase of the diverse and exciting extracurricular opportunities available to students," said WVHS associate principal and fair advisor Christopher Fiorentino. "It’s a fantastic chance for everyone to explore the wide range of clubs and find something that sparks their interest."

With more than 40 clubs and co-curricular activities to choose from, WVHS students have no shortage of ways to explore their interests, build new skills and connect with classmates. While club meetings and activities typically occur outside of the traditional classroom setting, many tie directly into what students are learning in school, offering a hands-on, exciting way to expand upon the curriculum.

This year’s lineup included everything from music and performance groups, like Studio Music Club, Drama Club, Jazz Choir, and Rock Club. The visual arts were represented by the Art Club and Empty Bowls. There were cultural/language groups including Spanish, French and Chinese Clubs.

Students browsed service and community-oriented groups like Future Farmers of America, Interact Club, Environmental Club, Future Business Leaders, and Wildcats News. Youth in Government was represented, along with Model UN, and the Mock Trial team. There were also tables for niche interests including both electronic and tabletop gaming. Warwick Crew and the Sports Medicine Club, both popular complements to the district's strong physical education and athletics programs, were there as well.

“The club fair is one of my favorite events at the high school,” said Andrew Warren, WVHS teacher and advisor for the Wildcats Robotics Club. “The wide range of clubs and activities that we offer here are great opportunities for students to get involved. When I was a student at the high school, being involved in clubs like OCAL and Math Team helped me learn a lot and build lifelong skills.”

Whether it’s discovering a passion for the first time or strengthening ties with peers who share similar interests, the Clubs & Activities Fair marks an exciting time of year for all involved. Each group helps foster the qualities of Warwick Valley’s Portrait of a Graduate, encouraging creativity, collaboration and lifelong learning both inside and outside the classroom.

"Clubs play a vital role in shaping our school culture, offering students meaningful ways to connect with peers, staff, and the broader school community," said Mr. Fiorentino. "By joining a club, students not only pursue their passions but also build lasting relationships and a deeper sense of belonging within the building."
